Fuze Announces Award of Patent for Management of Contact Information

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Fuze, the leading cloud-based communications platform provider for the modern global enterprise, today announced it has been awarded a new patent related to its advanced method of streamlining the management of contact information on clients’ devices.

On Nov. 14, 2017, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) issued U.S. Patent #9,819,768 entitled “Systems and Methods of Address Book Management.” Fuze’s latest patent protects the company’s process for identifying and storing correct contact information based on confidence in the information on that contact already on a server. With this patent, Fuze is building on its commitment to unlock relevant business systems across an organization to deliver contextual insights to everyone in the organization through the Fuze cloud communications platform.

The patented approach includes comparing a contact in a device’s address book with the contact in a server’s address book. If there is only one matching contact on the server, Fuze technology merges any differing data and sends the updated data back to the device. If there are multiple matching contacts on the server, it selects the matching contact having the highest confidence value and sends that contact’s data to the device.
