Over the past six weeks, millions of additional people in North America discovered that work is not a place, it is an activity as they reacted to the global COVID-19 pandemic and chose, or were forced to, work from home.

This article will quickly recap the challenges of the past several weeks but primarily will focus on key areas that organizations should be considering over the next 12 months. In doing so, we will use the following React-Adapt-Adopt model in order to illustrate the necessary shift in priorities over time.

You may have heard the phrase, “Work is a thing you do, not a place where you go.” This has never been truer than in today’s environment, as workers across industries and regions are now working from home in order to maintain “social distancing.” In today’s challenging environment, the way we work and collaborate is changing, requiring new tools to help employees be more efficient from wherever they may be working.

Collaboration has always been important in the workplace, but its effectiveness has long been hindered by the available technologies. The need for better collaboration tools has only grown as organizations become distributed, businesses become more globalized, and employees increasingly work from remote locations.
