15 Mar 2015

AVST CTO Participating in Roundtable Discussion Led by Microsoft Expert

ORLANDO, FL., March 16, 2015 - This week at Enterprise Connect, Applied Voice & Speech Technologies, Inc. (AVST), a leading provider of best-of-breed Unified Communications (UC) software, is helping enterprises as they pave the way toward advance communications infrastructures with Microsoft Lync. At booth #1029, AVST will conduct a series of presentations that showcase how to elevate the enterprise voice capabilities of Lync today and Skype for Business in the future.

Additionally, Microsoft expert Kevin Kieller will moderate an interactive roundtable discussion on Tuesday, March 17 at 2:30 p.m. that explores how enterprises are successfully deploying and enhancing Lync functionality in 2015. AVST Chief Technology Officer Tom Minifie will join a panel of esteemed technology experts and Microsoft Partners in the panel discussion. The panel will address best practices for:

  • Deploying Lync as a PBX or in a multi-vendor telephony environment
  • Overcoming voicemail compliance/confidentiality concerns
  • Enhancing Lync mobility and collaboration
  • Managing Lync and other UC systems from one interface

A leading technology research firm predicts Microsoft Lync to continue its rapid adoption rate as a telephony solution, and the company is expected to reach a top-three position as a global telephony provider by 2016. In support of this trend, AVST recently introduced a direct IP integration between its CX-E UC platform and Microsoft Lync. This integration creates an easy migration path for enterprises looking to transition their call control infrastructure to Lync and enables the centralization of voice applications across multiple locations in an evolving telephony environment.

"Many of our customers are on the path to transitioning to Microsoft Lync/Skype for Business today or in the future," Minifie said. "Our objective is to remain at the forefront of this trend by delivering next-generation UC applications to any call control environment - whether the landscape is Microsoft, Cisco, Avaya, Mitel, Alcatel-Lucent, NEC, a hosted PBX or a combination of both premise and cloud."

With interoperability to all major telephony/call control, email, IM, calendar, enterprise data and mobile devices, AVST's best-of-breed UC solutions are ideally suited to enable the evolutionary transition of enterprises to their digital future - no matter what their UC landscape is today or in the future.
