AVST Offers First Enterprise-Class Independent Voicemail Solution for Microsoft Lync

22 Sep 2014

Applied Voice & Speech Technologies, Inc. (AVST) has made it easier for companies to transition their PBX infrastructure to Microsoft Lync. With a new direct IP integration between Microsoft Lync 2013 and AVST's CX-E platform, best-of-breed UC applications from AVST augment and enhance Lync's core voice capabilities.

AVST is offering the first enterprise-class independent voicemail solution for Microsoft Lync 2013. This is important for customers who want to keep voicemail messages out of Microsoft Exchange in order to achieve different retention policies for voicemail and email. AVST notes that this helps to meet customers' compliance issues, and enables confidentiality of voice messages when required by restricting forwarding of voicemails outside of a company. AVST CX-E also extends Lync 2013 core voice capabilities with other mission-critical UC applications including speech, automated attendant, personal assistant, call center, IVR and notification.

As important, AVST's CX-E enables an easy migration path for enterprises looking to transition their call control (PBX) infrastructure to Lync, and enables the centralization of voice applications across multiple locations and an evolving PBX environment. CX-E offers over 400+ telephony integrations to Avaya, Cisco, Mitel, NEC, and others, enabling businesses to deploy Lync in a branch office or department while co-existing and leveraging their existing PBX investments.

According to UCStrategies Expert Kevin Kieller, "It is exciting to see companies such as AVST recognize and extend Microsoft Lync as a platform. Having the option of using AVTS's voicemail platform along with Lync means organizations not using Exchange today or having specific compliance concerns related to co-mingling emails and voice mails can now consider Lync for their voice and unified communication needs."

The CX-E Lync IP integration is currently available around the world through AVST's reseller channels. For more information, visit www.avst.com.
