BroadSoft Acquires Transera

8 Feb 2016

BroadSoft has recently announced the acquisition of Transera, adding its software and solutions to BroadSoft's Contact Center-as-a-Service (CCaaS) portfolio. Transera is a provider of cloud-based contact center software, offering omni-channel and analytics-driven software to SMBs and large enterprises.

Transera's solutions allow service providers to offer a complete cloud contact center portfolio, without the need for multiple, expensive, new investments. Its cloud contact center software uses analytics from multiple channels - voice, email, chat, and social media - to help businesses improve efficiency and get more out of their interactions with customers. Transera's solutions already integrate with BroadSoft's BroadWorks and BroadCloud solutions, making the acquisition a natural choice for BroadSoft.

While the financial terms of the acquisition have not been released, it's expected that it will help BroadSoft earn an additional $7-8 million in 2016, as the UCaaS market continues to grow at an annual rate of 16 percent.

As the acquisition is completed, approximately 60 employees will be making the jump from Transera to BroadSoft. Additionally, Transera's founder and CEO, Prem Uppaluru, will join BroadSoft as general manager and vice president of BroadSoft Cloud Contact Center.

As Blair Pleasant of COMMfusion LLC and UCStrategies notes, "Broadsoft was lacking a comprehensive contact center solution, and only had a 'lite' offering. Now its service provider customers have a more complete omnichannel solution to offer their customers. As the CCaaS market continues to grow, the ability to offer digital channels, including email and chat as part of an omnichannel solution is important for service providers selling cloud services and will help Broadsoft's customers be more competitive."
