Catalyst Telecom to Offer Avaya's Radvision Scopia

25 Dec 2012

Catalyst Telecom, a ScanSource, Inc. sales unit and a distributor of voice, video, and data convergence solutions, enhances its enterprise video conferencing solutions by expanding its sales portfolio to include Radvision's Scopia.

Radvision, a provider of video conferencing solutions over IP and wireless networks, was acquired by Avaya for approximately $230 million in March 2012.

Catalyst Telecom is set to incorporate Avaya's Scopia XT Telepresence platform, plus Scopia Desktop and Mobile video conferencing technologies into its existing product offering. The company is believed to have made efforts to build a comprehensive video practice with investments in both services and support.

Catalyst Telecom will also create new services to support the new solutions from Avaya. The new services will be provided to Catalyst Telecom's partners and customers, and they include education and training, design support, and technical support.

With ScanSource Services Group, Catalyst Telecom's business unit that specializes in creating and implementing value-added support programs and services for resellers, Catalyst Telecom is set to deliver the following services: Video Network Assessment Services (where convergence engineers analyze and report on the network environment in real time), Onsite Hardware and Software Installation (where options for Scopia system rollouts and integration into telephone systems are implemented), Monitor/Endpoint Installation (where a team of technicians can provide assistance during the installation of monitors and microphones), and Telephone System Integration (where the Scopia solution can be integrated into an existing legacy PBX or new communication system).

In addition, Catalyst Telecom offers its resellers a suite of complementary products to fulfill a video solution. The complementary products are said to include Avteq and Chief carts and mounts, Sony monitors, and Revolabs wireless microphones.

"With the addition of Avaya's Scopia solutions, our reseller partners now have a total solution selling opportunity with Avaya, including unified communications, networking and, now, video," said Mike Ferney, vice president of merchandising at Catalyst Telecom. "We believe the experience and services we offer in support of these solutions will enable our reseller partners to be successful in growing their total communications business and enhancing or launching their video practice."

"Catalyst Telecom has always provided top-notch services around Avaya solutions, and we are pleased to see the Scopia video portfolio being handled with that same level of commitment and expertise," said Karl Soderlund, vice president of Americas Channel Sales at Avaya. "Avaya is looking forward to the future of video and our continued partnership with Catalyst." (KOM) Link. Link.
