File Sharing Service for Enterprise Pushed Forward by Soonr

29 Aug 2013

A channel sales recruitment effort was launched by Campbell, California-based Soonr last week as it pushes forward its business-grade file sharing service.

Soonr, which supports AT&T's Backup and Go, is encouraging solution providers to make the most of its Soonr Success Partner program; new recruits will benefit from updated pricing and more storage.

CloudEasy4 is a Tacoma, Washington-based cloud services provider which has been reselling the Soonr service for the last 18 months. The founder and owner of that company, Morris Northcutt, said: "It's Dropbox on steroids. Dropbox is a good product, but it's a consumer product. You can clearly tell it was built for personal use. Soonr was developed for businesses. We have never had an outage or a breach. It's HIPAA-compliant with high encryption. It's nice to have a product geared for businesses."

A lot of effort has gone into creating a business-grade, highly secure service with geographic redundant data centers; additionally, Soonr has a seven-year record of no data breaches. As well as being compliant with HIPAA, Soonr comes SSAE-16 certified; these are both advantages to corporate customers that are looking for business-class cloud services.

Northcutt acknowledges that Soonr's channel commitment is particularly impressive, stating: "It's a great high-margin channel program. They give you flexibility to bundle the service as you like." He added that Soonr is also one of his top partners.

CloudEasy4 is now also more able to push additional sales, as a result of the new higher storage offering. Northcutt said: "It's a heck of a lot more storage. I had trouble sleeping last night thinking of how I can take advantage of this opportunity."

The price for Soonr Workplace Pro is set at $9.95 per user, per month for three users, and this also comes with 1 TB of storage. The Soonr Workplace Enterprise is set at $19.95 per user, per month for 10 users, and offers up to 5 TB of storage.

Thirty percent commission plus a 10 percent deal registration for the enterprise service is also featured with the new plans for Soonr Workplace Pro, according to the chief marketing officer at Soonr, Victoria Grey. Internal use licenses are also made available for 70 percent of the manufacturer's recommended retail price.

A range of different partners are being targeted by Soonr, and this includes an SMB to midmarket focus like born-in-the-cloud solution providers and MSPs which already offer Office 365 or hosted Exchange. Attendees at the UBM Channel XChange conference are offered a free internal use license for the professional service with three seats for free, and a signed reseller contract; this offer finishes at the end of next month.

The founder and CEO of Soonr and one of the holders of the original patent for file syncing, Martin Frid-Nielson, stated that thousands of new resellers are being targeted by the company's million-dollar-plus channel investment, and this marks a key point for the company.

Frid-Nielson commented: "We have had good technology for a while. It's time that we were no longer the world's best kept secret. We are looking forward to leveraging the channel. It's an immediate win-win situation. The resellers are trusted advisers and they have customers already eyeing these kinds of solutions. And we are seeing a lot of growth already from our partners selling seats."

There has been a 500 percent increase in Soonr's business over the last couple of years, according to Frid-Nielson. Soonr provides highly secure, telecom business-grade capabilities, and appeals to solution providers and customers who are keen to make sure that their data is kept safe in the cloud service-BYOD world. He said: "What's happening is the data that is so essential to business is being stored in individual accounts, and when these people leave the company, the data is walking out the door with them."
