Fuze Awarded Patent for Improving Network Communication Routes

14 Mar 2019

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Fuze, the leading cloud-based communications and collaboration platform provider for the modern global enterprise, today announced it has been awarded a new patent for an advanced method of network route selection that improves the quality of service associated with voice communications.

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) issued U.S. Patent No. 10,097,612 entitled “Selecting Routes Through a Network.” The invention specifically covered by the patent includes the ability to identify a fault location on a segment of the network, enabling Fuze to identify network problems before they cause issues for users, regardless of whether they are on their company’s network or on a public Wi-Fi network. The technology determines the best route through the network, avoiding any segments containing faults, and assigns output and input addresses to the corresponding routes while designating new addresses when the route no longer meets the appropriate metric.

“As organizations move away from expensive, hardware-intensive networks and look to support employees working from anywhere, there is a greater need for network agnostic communications and collaboration solutions that provide quality service regardless of architecture,” said Colin Doherty, CEO of Fuze. “With the ability to navigate users to the best network path, this patent is yet another example of our commitment to ensuring the highest quality customer experience, enabling employees to better communicate and collaborate, on their terms, improving productivity and driving innovation.”
