New 802.11ac Access Points With Improved Features from Motorola Solutions

Motorola has announced that it will be unveiling its indoor- and outdoor-rated 802.11ac Access Points suite, and this comes as an addition to the updated WiNG 5 technology. Government organizations and hotels will be able to create new designs to remain up-to-speed with the demands of employees and guests.

According to the Vice President and General Manager at Enterprise Networks & Communications for Motorola Solutions, Imran Akbar, "The demands on network bandwidth are on the rise, and our end-to-end solution for the 802.11ac standard, including new APs and WiNG 5.5 upgrade, increase capacity in the Wi-Fi network for both enterprise and government. In addition, the application acceleration engine with content caching helps accelerate application performance without requiring significant increases in WAN bandwidth."

The AP8232, AP8222 and AP8263 are three solutions in the newly-announced suite, and all cooperate with the new and legacy versions of 802.11ac systems standard. Both AP8232 and AP8222 are rated for indoor use, and include assistance for security sensors, pan-tilt-zoom cameras and WAN Back-haul. The AP8263 includes a Wireless Intrusion Prevention System, and is also suited for outdoor use.

Mobile applications can be delivered to users via the updated WiNG 5 technology, and this ensures that there is increased speed and improved features of Wi-Fi management via a single dashboard. (CY) Link
