RADVISION Expands Video Portfolio

23 Apr 2012

RADVISION Ltd. has announced the expansion of its SCOPIA video conferencing room system portfolio. With this expansion is the introduction of the SCOPIA XT4200 HD video conferencing system, as well as the SCOPIA T Meeting Center, which leverage the same technologies as the recent SCOPIA XT5000 HD video conferencing room system.

The SCOPIA XT4200 is designed to offer HD video communications for small and mid-sized conference rooms, as well as customers that don't need all the features and cost of the XT5000. It provides 720p/60fps live video and content, HD audio, H.264 High Profile and Scalable Video Coding, dual display support, and a wide angle PTZ camera.

The SCOPIA XT Meeting Center is a high-definition room system that integrates single or dual 55" 1080p displays. It's designed for simple and efficient implementation, enabling the system to be used as a shared resource and create a high quality video meeting space. It's powered by the SCOPIA XT5000, RADVISION's flagship.

"The Radvision announcement of a new series of room systems for smaller locations and businesses emphasizes the value that Avaya saw in deciding to acquire the Israeli company," says Phil Edholm of PKE Consulting and UCStrategies. "For Avaya, the lack of a clear video system was enabling competitors such as Cisco and Polycom/Microsoft to gain a beachhead in the Avaya customer base through video systems. The new challenge for Radvision as apart of Avaya is not just products, but convincing the Avaya user base that an integrated video solution is the next step on the Avaya UC roadmap. These new room systems, along with the entire Radvision line, must compete and have clear value versus the offers from Cisco and Polycom that many of the Avaya customers have already installed."
