The Wireless Innovation Forum (WInnForum) announced today the addition of six new members: 3rd Net, ATDI, Industrial Technology Research Institute, SMU, SYRTEM, and Tembo Systems. These new members join more than 80 current international member organizations including radio manufacturers, their partners and suppliers, acquisition authorities, service providers, operators, standards bodies, researchers and regulatory agencies.

3rdNet, created by the founders of MetroPCS, focuses on the deployment of private networks. The company’s deployed architecture will include both indoor and outdoor broadband access for enterprise and residential. In addition, the company will provide the necessary broadband backhaul and will facilitate IOT for industrial facilities.

ATDI develops, supplies and supports a comprehensive set of software tools for the planning, modelling and regulation of radiocommunications services. Support services include expert consultancy, monitoring & measurement, digital cartography, network design and optimization. The company’s software tools are technology-agnostic, incorporate the latest propagation models and are ITU-compliant. ATDI’s network planning and modelling tools consider terrain and associated clutter, supported by the very latest propagation tools, ensuing systems are planned effectively. The combination of ATDI’s software and consulting expertise means that the company is in a unique position to understand complex customer requirements and implement solutions. ATDI is a global market leader in solutions for the design, planning and modelling of radio networks and spectrum management.

Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) is a R&D organization engaging in applied research and technical services, aiming to innovate a better future. Founded in 1973, ITRI has been dedicated to helping industries stay competitive and sustainable. Over the years, ITRI has nurtured more than 240 companies, including global semiconductor leaders such as TSMC and UMC. Meanwhile, it has cultivated over 140 CEOs in the local high-tech industry. Its efforts in technological innovations have been recognized by prestigious honors such as the Wall Street Journal's Technology Innovation Awards and R&D 100 Awards. On information and communication field, ITRI has transformed its research domain recently from hardware-driven to software centric, service oriented and system integration, involving not only in technologies of 5G wireless communications, cloud computing system, advanced SoC and system design, IoT and innovative applications, but further expanding on FinTech, autonomous vehicle, tele-operated vehicle drone, cyber security, machine learning model and deep neural network. ITRI has played a vital role in Taiwan's economic growth as it shifted from a labor-intensive industry into a value-added, innovation-driven one. The institute will continue serving as a pioneer for industries by strengthening its capabilities of multidisciplinary innovation and cooperation with international partners all over the world.

Southern Methodist University is a highly ranked, distinguished University at the center of Dallas, Texas. It is one of the leaders of the engineering, computer science and multidisciplinary research labs including newly opened AT&T virtualization research center. Southern Methodist University Computer Science and Engineering department has ability to conduct innovative, collaborative research to solve complex problems. As a leading research university, SMU has joined the WInnForum to participate, experiment, and innovate with new algorithms, protocols and networks in need technical community. By joining the Forum, SMU will work to deliver a differentiated solution and experience in developing capabilities of emerging wireless paradigms that advance computing technologies. In addition, exploring applications such as merging new capabilities of the Software Defined Radio technologies into a wireless network nodes will help SMU work to satisfy communications requirements securely where users communicate effectively. Reconfigurability and resource allocation in these areas are subject to research where highly capable multichannel supporting Software Defined Radios are being designed and deployed.

SYRTEM develops, integrates & sells high performances Radiocommunication Platforms, Systems and turn-key Solutions for the Commercial & Professional Sector.

Tembo Systems provides multi-service wireless systems for ultra-highdensity applications. The product leverages patented antenna technology to provide high throughput and reliable coverage even in most challenging environments such as stadiums and venues. The integrated solution consisting of access points, controller and wireless management system offers highest capacity, fastest throughput and best coverage available in the industry today.

The Wireless Innovation Forum provides a singular venue to advance wireless system and spectrum sharing technologies, to educate and influence decision makers at all levels of the wireless value chain, and to drive changes that will address emerging wireless communications requirements through the enhanced value, reduced total life cost of ownership and timely delivery of standardized families of products, technologies, and services.
