Logitech's division, LifeSize, has stated that it has strengthened its relationship with Microsoft as part of its Microsoft Lync Room System. The Logitech-Microsoft effort allows for the delivery of a video and collaboration solution and allows the Lync unified communication experience to be available across locations as a result of LifeSize's input.

The Microsoft Lync Room Systems has four video collaboration vendors taking part in its program, of which LifeSize is one. The program is aimed at producing a new product category structured around Lync 2013.

This week, the LifeSize LRS1000 was introduced for Microsoft Lync; this is a meeting room collaboration solution which is operated with Microsoft Lync 2013 software and has been enhanced to meet the needs of meeting rooms.

For more efficient and productive meetings, higher quality components are necessary, and the LifeSize LRS1000 for Microsoft Lync offers users a more familiar Lync experience and group collaboration capabilities to enhance conference meetings.

Customers and partners in various locations are able to collaborate to a higher efficiency as a result of the LifeSize LRS1000 for Microsoft Lync. An improved collaboration experience with content sharing, voice and video calling is all enabled by the Lync user interface.

Voice and video calling is also made possible on the Lync 2013 and 2010 models, and a touch-screen control console displays the user directory, calendar and presence information, and a HD camera, stereo microphone and support for up to two touch-displays for digital white boarding are all supported by the LifeSize LRS1000 for Microsoft Lync.

Following the second quarter of 2013, the LifeSize LRS1000 for Microsoft Lync will be made available to the channel. (CY) Link
