UCStrategies Experts Front and Center at Enterprise Connect

17 Jan 2013

Enterprise Connect Orlando 2013 (ECO 13), coming soon on March 18-21, will be another very important industry event for communications in the enterprise. Featured categories include unified communications, plus all the related categories of collaborative communications, social communications, mobility, video systems and voice communications systems.

Since 2006 the UCStrategies team has been the initiating team and the leading contributor to the Unified Communications (UC) sessions at Enterprise Connect (nee VoiceCon) and this year our team will be doing even more. We will be moderating, presenting, contributing or organizing 21 sessions at ECO 13. The sessions are listed below and in the illustration. Or download a complete PDF of the schedule, with room assignments.

We encourage you to join in at Enterprise Connect 2013. A UCStrategies discount code is available to provide 30 percent off the "On-Site" rate for conference passes. Just click here or enter Priority Code: MPUCSTRAT when registering on the Enterprise Connect website.

Market Overview

  • Blair Pleasant will provide the annual UC Market Update, with important insights to the growth of the UC market and the forces and vendors who are driving that growth.

Innovation Showcase and Awards

  • Dave Michels will again organize the Innovation Showcase, which brings out some of the most creative new ideas and will present the Awards in the Monday Summit sessions.

UC Solutions and Technologies

  • Jim Burton will co-moderate, with Fred Knight, Enterprise Connect GM, the first general session, the Summit: Is UC Moving Toward a New Plateau - or Towards a Cliff?

  • Michael Finneran will anchor the entire Mobility track with five sessions, including the Mobile UC Summit on Monday afternoon. We especially recommend you check out his two-hour Deep Dive on "Managing Mobility in a BYOD World" Monday morning.

  • Blair Pleasant will host a customer panel focusing on integrating UC with social software capabilities, focusing on benefits, best practices, and lessons learned.

  • Marty Parker will deliver the UC Impleme ntation Options session to describe the multiple paths to UC as well as co-moderating the UC Interoperability session with Russell Bennett.

  • Marty Parker will also lead a new workshop session on Designing and Implementing CEBP for Your Organization to highlight this value-creating UC-B (UC-Business Process) category.

  • Dave Michels will lead a session on The Role of APIs in Integrating Communications with the Business.

  • Phil Edholm will lead a debate on Lync or Jabber: Deciding Between the Two. Clearly an interesting topic regarding the two vendors top-rated in the Gartner UC Magic Quadrants.

  • Kevin Kieller leads the session Living with Lync, for those who are already adopting or plan to adopt the Microsoft solution for UC and enterprise voice, video and conferencing.

  • Steve Leaden has several sessions about the infrastructure for UC - desktop devices, SBCs, and contracts for cloud services.

Multi-Vendor RFP Sessions

  • Again, there will be three RFP sessions to highlight the technical and economic differences between three approaches to UC. Dave Stein leads RFP: IP Telephony with UC (new IP PBX with UC features, on premise); Brent Kelly leads RFP: Cloud Based UC Services (new PBX functions with UC features, in the cloud); Marty Parker leads RFP: UC without a New PBX (showing how to add UC without migrating the PBX).

Locknote

  • To wrap it all up, Michael Finneran, Dave Michels and Kevin Kieller, who I think are the three best pundits on the UCStrategies team, will both be on the Locknote Panel to recap the ECO 13 happenings.

So, it will be a great event. We hope you can be there and don't forget the promotional code listed above.
