Tech Veterans Bring Decades of Leadership to Help Unify Square Deliver Industry Leading Scale and Security Across its Skype for Business Offerings

Unify Square announced the appointment of Charlie DiBona as Chief Financial Officer and Chris Vaughn as Chief Information Security Officer. The pair will bring a combined 50 years of industry experience and leadership to the finance and security functions at Unify Square and help enhance its position as the most comprehensive provider of Skype for Business software and services worldwide.

"Scale is critical to our global impact," said Sonu Aggarwal, cofounder and CEO of Unify Square. "Charlie's 25+ years of IT and finance experience combined with Chris' expertise in creating and implementing information security programs are terrific additions to our high-powered executive team. I'm looking forward to what we can accomplish together."

DiBona joins Unify Square from Tresoro Ventures and TresoroLabs, where he served as a partner and executive director/portfolio CFO respectively. Prior to that, DiBona ran strategy and mergers and acquisitions for Microsoft's Server and Tools Business. Previously, as a sell-side equity analyst at Sanford C. Bernstein in New York, DiBona covered the entire enterprise software sector, including Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, and Salesforce. He also spent several years as CFO of the software startup, InfoRay. As CFO of Unify Square, DiBona will oversee the company's global financial strategy and guide its investor relations, future financing activity, and pricing and payment strategies. DiBona will also lead efforts to evaluate new strategic markets to drive Unify Square's continued growth in Unified Communications.

"As a finance guy, I'm pretty analytical both professionally and personally. My decision to join Unify Square was very deliberate, driven by my assessment of the company's product and service strategy and the executive team's long-term UC vision," said DiBona. "I strongly believe Unify Square is making the right moves at the right time in the global UC market, and I'm honored to be a part of this team."

Chris Vaughn joins the team after seven years at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, where he was the foundation's first management level information security professional. Vaughn is credited with developing the information security program for the world's largest private foundation. In his tenure at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, he oversaw strategic planning, program development, security engineering and IT service continuity for the global organization. Prior to that, Vaughn was responsible for leading the infrastructure security program for Nestlé S.A. across North and South America. In this role, he oversaw governance, compliance, and risk assessment processes for the global Fortune 100 organization. He was also instrumental in developing the first information security program for Ralston Purina. Vaughn brings deep experience in designing and implementing business-aligned information security strategies and programs on an international scale. As Unify Square's CISO, Vaughn will continue to aggressively propel Unify Square's cloud software and related services into a market leadership role as the most secure in the industry, addressing the information security and data privacy needs of Unify Square's worldwide Fortune 500 customers.

"I am thoroughly impressed by Unify Square's people, the quality of products and services, and their commitment to information security," said Vaughn. "What excites me most about joining the team is the opportunity to have global impact by working with our Fortune 500 customers to collectively strengthen procurement and operational compliance processes for cloud-based software and related services, helping uplift the UC space to a new level from a security and data privacy standpoint."

Over the last several months, Unify Square has doubled down on its product roadmap and growth strategy. The company recently launched the UC industry's first cloud-based integrated Skype for Business operations solutions software suite, known as PowerSuite, and earlier this month relaunched its smart remote managed services offering, PowerAssurance, which together create the most comprehensive management offering for Skype for Business. The sophistication of Unify Square's product and services offering has helped the company surpass a customer milestone of 5 million seats across an elite roster of enterprises including Unilever, Deutsche Telekom, Nestlé, Shell and ExxonMobil.
