The BCStrategies/UCStrategies team just wrapped up another successful BC Summit. Jim Burton did a great job in bringing together a group of Solution Integrators, Consultants, Enterprise Customers, and of course, the UC Experts. In addition to breakout Focus Sessions, Vendor Keynotes and Success Stories, sessions and topics included:

  • Migrating to a Cloud Business Model
  • Internet of Things
  • Open Communications
  • Industry Consolidation
  • AI
  • Vendor Landscape
  • SD-WAN for Real-Time Services
  • The Mobile Market
  • Planning Network Workloads for Business Communications
  • Hybrid Architectures
  • Usage and Adoption
  • Contact Center Update
  • The New Video Room
  • Workstream Messaging
  • The Future of the Industry

During the event I had a chance to speak with several of the vendor sponsors, as well as an enterprise end-user customer. Here are some of the video interviews.

An Interview with Vonage CEO Alan Masarek

I spoke with Alan Masarek, CEO of Vonage. Masarek gave an insightful keynote presentation, and we spoke afterwards about UCaaS, CPaaS, and how Vonage is helping customers more easily move to the cloud.

Tata Communications on Helping Microsoft Customers

David Spears of Tata Communications discussed how Tata Communications is helping Microsoft customers, especially in light of Microsoft’s announcement that Teams is becoming the new Skype for Business client. Daryl Reva Provides Update on Mitel and ShoreTel

Daryl Reva of Mitel talks about the Mitel acquisition of ShoreTel, moving to the cloud with CloudLink, hybrid cloud, and more.

Brent Daniel of Unum Group Talks About User Adoption

User adoption was a key topic at the BC Summit. One of the enterprise end users who attended the event provided great insights during the User Adoption session that Kevin Kieller and I presented, and I had a chance to speak with him during lunch. Brent Daniel of Unum Group, a Crestron customer, discussed how his company assured user adoption when they rolled out their Microsoft and Crestron UC solution. Brent noted that training, branding, and having early success stories, are key.

As always, the BC Summit was a great event, helping the attendees plan and prepare for the changes that are impacting our industry.
