Dave Silke on the Future of Mitel

4 Jan 2022

Mitel made quite a splash recently when it announced that RingCentral will become its exclusive UCaaS partner. Under the terms of the agreement, Mitel’s UCaaS offering will move to RingCentral’s Message Video Phone (MVP). This gives Mitel’s customer base of 35 million an easy path to a cloud phone system. Mitel will continue to support but will stop selling its MiCloud Connect offering. In addition, RingCentral acquired Mitel’s CloudLink technology to deeply integrate Mitel’s platforms with RingCentral’s MVP solution.

This leads to the question – what’s next for Mitel? The company will continue to sell its full on-prem, private, and hybrid UC portfolio, including subscription models and Flex Wholesale, as well as MiCollab and on-premises contact center solutions.

To get a better understanding of Mitel’s plans and expectations for the future, I spoke with Mitel CMO Dave Silke about what this new arrangement means for Mitel, its customers, and its partners.
