Francisco Kattan is the Principal at Kattan Consulting Group, a strategy and marketing consulting firm serving B2B technology companies. Francisco helps companies that are transforming themselves by opening APIs for developers and/or moving to PAAS and SAAS business models. Francisco helps with all aspects of strategy and product marketing, including target market, segmentation, value proposition, positioning, messaging, persona development, competitive analysis, customer research, product launches, content marketing, white papers, and thought leadership.
As Head of Platform Marketing for Nexmo, the Vonage API Platform, Francisco built and led the marketing team that transformed Nexmo from an SMS API into a broad communications platform including SMS, voice, video, social chat apps, and in-app communications; grew the business from $70M to over $200M, and established Nexmo firmly as one of two leaders in a crowded industry.
Francisco has extensive domain expertise in development platforms, APIs, mobile, contact center and collaboration software. Francisco helped lead Edify from No. 6 to No. 2 by disrupting hardware IVR companies with a software-only voice and web self service platform, and Openwave from No. 5 to No. 3 in MMS by disrupting legacy SMS players with IP based-Messaging. Francisco led the marketing team that grew Adobe Flash mobile from 200 million to 1 billion devices and Appery.io from zero to 300K developers.
Francisco holds MS degrees in Electrical Engineering and Engineering Management from Stanford University. In addition he completed the Leading Strategic Growth executive education program at the Columbia School of Business and the year-long Advanced Leadership Development Program at Vonage.
