Fuze Enhances Mobile Experience with New Patent for Managing Communication Devices

16 Dec 2020

Fuze, the leading cloud-based communications provider for the modern global enterprise, today announced that it has been awarded a new patent for controlling communication devices when using a web-based unified communications platform. The patent enables Fuze users to seamlessly alternate between different devices in real time when communicating across telephony, video, or chat on the Fuze platform.

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (UpSPTO) issued Fuze U.S. Patent No. 10834147 on November 10, 2020. The invention provides methods and systems for controlling a communication device using a web-based unified communication platform, enabling users to synchronize multiple devices and seamlessly transition between them during a live conversation. For example, with this new patent, Fuze users can easily alternate between their desktop phone and smartphone, in real time, without needing to end a conversation.

“There is no question that the global pandemic has propelled the way we work. Having the ability to seamlessly communicate and interact across multiple devices without interruption is essential to the flexible work experience,” said Rob Scudiere, president and chief operating officer at Fuze. “At Fuze, we are committed to empowering the distributed workforce and this patent enables users to continue their conversations with colleagues regardless of which device they are communicating on.”
