Nectar Diagnostics Provides Real-Time Support for Microsoft Teams Direct Routing

Nectar Services Corp., the leader in the development and deployment of proactive unified communications network monitoring and performance management software for the voice, video and collaboration market, today at Microsoft Ignite announced Nectar Diagnostics for Teams Direct Routing, providing IT administrators complete visibility into critical factors that impact the health of the communications network and ultimately end-user experiences. The solution offers advanced support for Microsoft Phone System Direct Routing associated with Microsoft Teams, and is Nectar’s first step in a comprehensive Microsoft Teams support strategy to be expanded in the coming months.

As more organizations move to cloud-based collaboration and telephony platforms, like Microsoft Teams, Nectar helps IT professionals support and troubleshoot common carrier handoff and SIP signaling errors between the carrier and the SBCs they manage, as well as gives service providers confidence that hosted Direct Routing services are functioning and healthy. Nectar Diagnostics not only saves time by allowing IT support to quickly identify the issue, but it also provides clear evidence of any signaling issues that may contribute to quality or call delivery issues.

Utilizing both API access and optional packet analyzer technology to fill in manufacturer “blind spots,” Nectar Diagnostics creates real-time, complete call troubleshooting records for every session, regardless of platform or client type. Further, it collects actual session metadata relating to packet loss, jitter, delay, echo, MOS and other key metrics. This advanced collection method differentiates Nectar Diagnostics from other platforms that rely only on synthetic or traceroute data to estimate session health rather than measure actual session health.

“Nectar’s long-standing leadership in this advanced troubleshooting area has enabled powerful and timely data across a variety of collaboration and call-control platforms. Our support of Microsoft Teams Direct Routing is a natural extension of these capabilities and addresses the critical needs of enterprises and service providers globally as they support cloud initiatives,” said Joe Fuccillo, chief technology officer at Nectar. “Many organizations that have committed to Microsoft’s platforms for collaboration and meetings have been considering adoption of Microsoft Teams, but a lack of visibility into the health of telephony calls has concerned many of our clients. We’re thrilled to announce this capability and our efforts to help enable a shift to the cloud.”
