Nectar Evolution Joins Cisco Price List to Deliver Improved User Experience for UC Environments

First UC QoS automation solution in the market and offered through Cisco's vast channel network enables dramatic time savings in network operations

Nectar Services Corp., the global leader in the development and deployment of proactive network monitoring and management software for the Unified Communications (UC) industry, announced today that Nectar Evolution is now available on the Cisco Global Price List and is offered through Cisco's global channel of resellers. An industry first, Evolution integrates with the Cisco Digital Network Architecture (DNA) to automate quality of service (QoS) and verify best practices that were previously manually implemented. Nectar's Evolution enables enterprises to optimize voice, video and collaboration experiences across multi-vendor UC platform deployments that include Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Microsoft Skype for Business, and other third party ecosystem applications.

Even the most basic network changes can take weeks or even months to complete. Additionally, due to the many variations of devices and network operating systems, the syntax required to make a configuration change could be unique from platform to platform making the task even more challenging." said Steven Purcell, senior director of global Cisco program management at Nectar. "For Wi-Fi specific enterprise environments, QoS is typically not deployed nor available. Deploying Cisco's APIC-EM with Nectar Evolution significantly simplifies the rollout of a QoS deployment of Wi-Fi users and applications across an organization ensuring an optimized voice, video and collaboration experience."

As a cross-platform, UC-aware solution, Evolution utilizes Nectar's dynamic, rules-based policy engine in conjunction with Cisco's SDN Application Policy Infrastructure Controller Enterprise Module (APIC-EM), an integral module of Cisco's DNA vision, to deliver unified communications QoS automation and orchestration across a Cisco wired or wireless infrastructure. Leveraging Cisco APIC-EM, Evolution ensures the user receives the proper QoS regardless of UC device being used or registered. By designating and assigning the proper QoS to the registered UC device, the network can operate at the highest performance standards. This results in significant time savings in network operations, thus allowing enterprises to dedicate time and resources to alternative operational needs.

Historically, many network managers have managed routers, switches and other network elements on a device-by-device basis through a highly manual, repetitive process", said Bill Haskins, Sr. Analyst and Partner at Wainhouse Research. "Nectar Evolution dramatically simplifies this process by automating QoS at a platform level, saving time, lowering cost, and reducing errors. Put it all together, and you improve ROI, increase reliability, and deliver a better UC experience."

Nectar will be demonstrating Evolution in their booth #335 at Cisco Live, Las Vegas, June 25-29, 2017, as well as highlighting the solution in the Cisco DevNet Zone. View Nectar Evolution How It Works Video.
