As the lights Dim on Skype for Business Teamline Protects Meeting Room Investments with New Agnostic Solution

4 Sep 2019

Teamline, the leading provider of enterprise meeting room solutions built for, and tightly integrated with Microsoft UC, announces MultiJoin, a major innovation that transforms any Teamline equipped meeting room into a platform-agnostic collaboration space. This gives users a direct and easy way to join Microsoft Teams, Skype for Business, Cisco Webex, Zoom, BlueJeans and StarLeaf meetings.

The announcement by Microsoft that it will end of life Skype for Business Online in 2021 requires the enterprise to migrate to Microsoft Teams or to reconsider its options. This raises the question of ‘what to do about meeting rooms?’

“At Teamline we are focused on ensuring our customers continue to benefit from their meeting rooms as they migrate to Microsoft Teams or other UC platforms”, said Steve Raffe, Head of Teamline.

“By delivering an agnostic meeting room system the enterprise can transition from Skype for Business at its own pace, without impacting users, ripping out meeting room systems or increasing costs. Teamline meeting rooms with MultiJoin ensure our customers have a solution that offers the investment protection and longevity they need.”

In April 2019 Microsoft confirmed that over 500,000 organisations now use Microsoft Teams. For these businesses, there is a continuing and often growing demand to join internal and external meetings that are held on a variety of different services. In many cases, demand is fuelled by internal users remaining wedded to legacy systems such as Webex, while other meeting invites are external and held on services such as Zoom or StarLeaf. In many cases, the user wants to attend the meeting from the comfort and privacy of a meeting room. MultiJoin addresses this need by transforming the Teamline meeting room system into a multipurpose and interoperable system delivering a one button to push for all meetings.
