Tempo Telecom, based in Atlanta, Georgia, has announced that it will be including wireless prepaid services to its offerings. The company was previously known as NOW Communications, and is a prepaid division of Birch Communications, Inc., which is a popular telecommunications company in Southeastern U.S.
An asset purchase agreement has been signed by Birch Communications in order to purchase key customer and network assets from Lightyear Network Solutions, Inc.
Birch Communications announced on Monday that it had completed a project which has been worked on over a number of years, and was aimed at expanding the company's IP Network. The IP-based communications service provider stated that it has constructed 15 wireless towers and 43 office collocations, and has distributed them in the southern and central U.S., spanning over five states.
Atlanta, Georgia-based Birch Communications announced last week that it will acquire particular assets and the base of customers of fellow company, Chattanooga, Tennessee-based CLEC Covista Communications.
This move emphasizes the rapid speed at which Birch is making acquisitions, and will be the company's 17th acquisition in the telecom and managed services markets since 2006.
