Silver Peak is a WAN optimization specialist which last week announced integration capabilities between its data acceleration software and VMware's new network virtualization technology. The company says that this move will mean that application and traffic flow between virtual machines can be strengthened.

The NSX is a game-changer, according to VMware, and will allow virtualized data center networks to become available by changing high-end features of switches, routers and other networking gear into software.

The new report Feds on the Go: Network Needs for Maximum Mobility examined how outdated IT infrastructure hinders mobility and how mobile devices are used by government employees in the workplace. The study is based on a June 2013 online survey of 209 federal managers (GS-13 and above).

In order to merge network access control software into Brocade's new HyperEdge network architecture, Bradford Networks is partnering with Brocade.

This partnership will mean that the software integrations will reduce complexity and increase control and visibility of the network. The joined architecture and access control capabilities provide a way to solve the BYOD issue, according to the vice president of business development at Bradford Networks, Vincent Ma.
