dinCloud Hosted Virtual Servers Available Through Ingram Micro

dinServer is the hosted virtual offering from dinCloud, and the service will now be provided to Ingram Micro's North American channel partners through the Ingram Micro Cloud Marketplace. The updated and broadened distribution agreement means that Ingram Micro will be able to market, sell and aid dinServer by supporting its growing base of cloud-focused channel partners; VARs, MSPs and Sis are also included in this.

New Videoconferencing System from Tely Labs

telyHD Pro was introduced by Tely Labs last week; this is the most recent enterprise-focused videoconferencing system to develop out of the startup, and one which highlights the move from a consumer-focused video vendor to a business-focused one.

The new system is aimed at both the enterprise and SMB space, and will be distributed primarily through Tely Lab's channel. This shows that the Redwood, California-based vendor is keen to implement its place in the business world.

Microsoft Announces Surface Reseller Program

Microsoft Corp. announces its two-tiered Microsoft Devices Program that sets up three distributors-Ingram Micro, Inc., SYNNEX Corporation, and Tech Data Corporation-to sell Microsoft Surface devices to a select group of commercial resellers, including CDW, CompuCom Systems, Inc., En Pointe Technologies, Insight Enterprises, Inc., PC Connection, Inc., PCM, Inc., Softchoice, Softmart, SHI International Corp., and Zones, Inc.

Ingram Micro Unveils Cloud Services

Ingram Micro has made new cloud telecom services available in its collection of 170 solutions which it provides through its cloud marketplace; the purpose of this is to lengthen its deployment and distribution role in order to mark it out as a master cloud aggregator. The extra provisions, which were announced at the Ingram Micro Cloud Summit in Phoenix, Arizona, are rooted in the service and support offerings such as voice and data from CenturyLink and Time Warner Cable Business Class.

Cisco's Hosted Collab Solution Offered to Ingram Micro Resellers

Ingram Micro's North America Services Division rolls out Cisco's Hosted Collaboration Solution (HCS) to qualified Cisco partners based in Canada and the United States. The HCS addition is sold though the Ingram Micro Cloud Marketplace. Ingram Micro is also partnering with the Advanced Services unit of Cisco to help partners during their HCS provisioning and deployment, as well as to provide management and technical support.

Ingram Micro Posts Record Quarterly Profits and Revenues

Last week, Ingram Micro posted record quarterly worldwide sales totaling $11.38 billion. In the same quarter a year ago, the company's fourth-quarter results were $9.95 billion. Having acquired BrightPoint and Aptec Holdings Ltd. recently have resulted in the high quarterly revenues of $1 billion and $75 million respectively.

Compared to the fourth-quarter of 2011 when the worldwide gross profit measured $554.3 million (5.57 percent of total sales), this year it measured $661.2 million (5.81 percent of total sales). This improvement is another record for the company.

Ingram Micro Reshuffle Will Impact Mobility Division

Three key management positions have altered at Ingram Micro; the changes are expected to impact the consumer electronics business, mobility division, and leadership in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

The new executive managing director of Ingram Micro U.K. and Ireland, Brent McCarthy, has previously led the distributor's consumer electronics business which was formerly titled DBL Distributing. McCarthy will now report to the regional vice president, U.K., Belgium and Netherlands, Johan Vandenbussche, with Ingram Micro EMEA.
