Damaka Brings Unified Communication and Collaboration Platform to BlackBerry

Damaka announced the introduction of its Unified Communication and Collaboration product suite for BlackBerry devices. The upcoming release will provide users with presence, instant messaging, application and desktop sharing, and the ability to join in audio conferences.

The solution for BlackBerry includes Damaka's Sweeping technology, made for transferring in-process collaboration sessions to and from multiple devices, no matter what the OS or network may be.

ShoreTel and Alinean Launch Online TCO Tool

ShoreTel has recently announced that its ShoreTel Online TCO Tool, powered by Alinean, is now available through the ShoreTel web site. This tool is based on the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) industry standards set by Alinean, and incorporates third-party research from leading firms.

The ShoreTel TCO Tool analyzes TCO, including acquisition costs management and support, for not only ShoreTel but also various companies and UC vendors.

AVST Announces Intent to Purchase SaaS Technology from VMI

Applied Voice & Speech Technologies, Inc. (AVST) announced that it has signed a Letter of Intent to purchase certain assets from Voice Mobility International, Inc. (VMI), particularly the Voice Mobility UCN250 Software as a Service platform. The exact terms of the transaction, however, were not disclosed.

The UCN250 is a Linux and SIP-based SaaS platform that AVST will integrate into its unified communications solution portfolio, thus accelerating AVST's ability to address the ever-growing communications requirements of customers.
