What we mean by "mobility" continues to change (or move). Smartphones initially allowed us to take our desktop applications (such as email, social networks, games, even web searches) with us. Slowly, the smartphone began replacing our items and devices including calendars, maps, pagers, mirrors, and more. Will the smartphone replace our computers and networks?

What's Smart about SMART Technologies

One of the highlights of Enterprise Connect was getting an up-close demo of SMART Technologies' SMART Room System for Microsoft Lync. At the Microsoft Lync conference a couple months ago, Microsoft introduced the Lync Room System (LRS) client, which bridges the gap between the desktop- and room-based collaboration experiences, making it easier for users to schedule and join Lync-based conferences.

Enterprise Connect 2013 Shout Outs

The whirlwind of Enterprise Connect is over, and I'm still recovering from several days of sessions, meetings, and receptions. Enterprise Connect is the largest gathering of the who's who in the UC industry, and it was THE place to be for enterprises to get an update about what's going on in the market (of course the UCStrategies UC Summit is the place to be for Solution Integrators/VARs/Resellers and consultants, but that's another topic).
